I was looking for the perfect drug store foundation when the girls of Pixiwoo uploaded a video (Nic and Sam Chapman, the amazing women who created Real Techqinues) on finding a good drug store foundation. I take everything they recommend and do as my makeup bible, so check out their other videos too!
They recommended the Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation, and it is now my drug store go to. It is the perfect foundation for my skin, as it hydrates and stays on all day. It doesn’t accentuate any dry parts of my skin and it hides pores perfectly. It is also great that there are three colour correcting pigments within the foundation, so it does your colour correcting for you!
Yellow to correct any dark circles.
Purple to correct dull complexion.
Green to correct redness.
It is a matte finish but it also brings life to your face by having a slight dewy texture as well. I know that sounds contradictory and confusing but its true! For this foundation, I use a brush to blend it into my skin, but it also gives a flawless finish when using any type of sponge beauty blender.
I don’t own the original beauty blender, I actually have the Sephora trio Babushka blenders, which are amazing but I can’t find them on the Sephora website anymore.
Whenever I use any type of foundation, blending is key. The more you blend, the more the foundation will like like it is your skin, and not something over it.
I recommend this as the drug store foundation. I have the Maybelline Fit Me foundation that is Matte and Poreless, but it just makes my face look very flat, getting rid of any dimension that I have without the foundation on it.
Let me know what your drug store foundation is in the comments below or tweet me @meghangiffin !
